April 15, 2025As World Veterinary Day approaches on April 26, veterinarians across Tanzania are preparing to celebrate the essential role they play in animal health, public health, and food security. The day, established by the World Veterinary Association (WVA) and celebrated globally each year on the last Saturday of April, highlights the contributions of veterinarians and raises awareness about animal welfare and related issues.
As the world prepares to celebrate World Veterinary Day on April 26, veterinarians in Tanzania will mark the event in Manyara Region from 24th-26th April, by taking the lead in promoting animal health and public awareness through a series of activities aimed at livestock keepers and the wider community.
This year’s theme, “Animal Health Takes a Team,”.
Activities and community services that will be offered from 24th to 26th April, include:
Animal Vaccinations, Surgical Operations, Public Education and Extension Services.
The climax of the events will be at Tanzanite Kwaraa Stadium in Babati Town on 26th April.
As the countdown to April 26 begins, Tanzania’s veterinary community stands united in its mission to care for animals, protect human health, and contribute to a safer, more resilient nation
