Pursuant to the requirements of Section 5(2) (h) of the Veterinary Act (CAP 319), The Council must promote and encourage educational advancement with regard to veterinary practice. Furthermore, Part VI, Regulation 9 of The Veterinary Act (Training Standards for Registration, Enrolment and Enlistment), Regulations of 2005, provides for mandatory CPD undertaking by Professional and Paraprofessionals in Tanzania.

However, it is undeniable fact that most veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals had difficult access to science and technology due to weaknesses of pathways for enabling them to update their knowledge. As such, most have continued to rely on what they learnt while students in discharging their duties.

In this era where library resources in the education system has become one of the limiting factors, The Council and ALPHA ZOETIS have developed access on online CPDs for veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals by the following address www.zoetis.co.tz Further to that, The Council, World Veterinary Association (WVA) and TVA have also developed another online CPD access by the address : The World Continuing Education Alliance

Other resources will be added when available.

As per requirement of the Veterinary Act (CAP 319), all veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals are now urged to use these two sites for CPD undertaking by creating their own accounts so as to abide with the law.
